Big Walk Platforms — PC, Mac, PS5 and Switch 2 (Is It on Xbox?)

Every platform Big Walk is on: Windows and Mac via Steam, the Mac App Store, PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 — plus the straight answer on Xbox, PS4, Linux and Steam Deck.

Big Walk is out now on four platform families: Windows PC, Mac, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. If you are hunting for it on Xbox or PS4, here is the honest answer — plus what each version actually includes.

Every platform Big Walk is on

Platform Available Notes
Windows PC ✅ Via Steam — $19.99, full controller support
Mac ✅ Two routes: Steam (macOS build) and the Mac App Store
PlayStation 5 ✅ Standalone PS5 version on the PlayStation Store
Nintendo Switch 2 ✅ On the eShop — $19.99 list price, supports the mouse mode
Xbox / PS4 / Linux ❌ Not available

House House states it directly in the official FAQ: Big Walk is available for Windows and Mac (via Steam and the Mac App Store), PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2 — and no other platforms are planned at this time. That is the developer's current position, so if you are here because you searched "why isn't Big Walk on Xbox" — that is why. There is no Xbox version, no announced port, and no waitlist to join. If that ever changes, it will show up first on the official site and House House's channels.

The Mac version has one quirk

The Mac App Store build is the odd one out in two small ways:

  • It has no friends list integration (no Game Center support), so the friends-games menu does not appear — you join with a Join Code instead.
  • Friend-game lists aside, everything else works the same, and crossplay with PC, PS5 and Switch 2 is unaffected (details here).

If you already have a Mac, the Steam route keeps the full friends-list convenience; the Mac App Store route is there if that is simply where you prefer to buy.

What about the Steam Deck?

The official FAQ references the Steam Deck by name — its built-in microphone is listed among the ways to play the game's voice-chat-centred gameplay without buying extra gear. Big Walk runs on PC hardware you already own, though House House does not publish a formal verification badge per device, so treat Deck performance as "supported hardware, unofficial stamp".

Linux players have it rougher: Steam's own store data lists Windows and Mac only, with no Linux build.

Controls on every version

Whichever box you buy it on, the game plays the same:

  • Mouse and keyboard work well on PC and Mac, and most game controllers are supported on the computer version.
  • PS5 plays with the DualSense — whose built-in microphone doubles as your voice chat input.
  • Switch 2 supports Joy-Cons plus the console's mouse mode, and every control can be rebound in Settings.

One rule worth knowing before you invite anyone: Big Walk is built entirely around in-game voice and text chat — the official FAQ is emphatic that talking through outside apps is not how the game is meant to be played. Every platform's built-in mic is enough. See our beginner tips for the comms habits that make groups click.

Every version is a single standard edition — no deluxe tiers, no DLC. Steam and the Switch 2 eShop both list it at $19.99 (checked September 21, 2026); the PS5 pricing lives on the PlayStation Store. Full breakdown in our Big Walk price guide.
